Bathroom Faucet Buying Guide
Technical guidance for choosing, installing and caring for lasting brass fixtures.
The right bathroom faucet fits the vanity, sink and plumbing layout before it complements the room finish. Start with the number and placement of mounting holes, then check spout reach, faucet height, drain compatibility and clearance around mirrors or shelves.
Match faucet type to your sink
Single-hole faucets suit a single mounting opening. Widespread faucets use separate hot and cold handles and need the correct spacing. Wall-mounted faucets need an in-wall rough-in and should be planned with the sink position. Vessel sinks may need additional height or reach depending on the basin.
Measure where the water lands
Compare spout reach with the bowl center. A stream that lands too close to the back of the sink may splash; one that lands too far forward can be uncomfortable to use. Confirm dimensions from the product page before buying.
Plan the drain and service access
Faucet selection is only one part of the vanity plan. Check the sink drain opening, overflow arrangement where relevant, countertop holes and access below the basin for future maintenance.

No. Spout projection and wall rough-in must suit the basin and finished-wall depth.
How do I choose the right spout reach?
Compare the reach with the bowl center to help reduce splashing and improve everyday use.
What should I check below the vanity?
Confirm drain arrangement, supply access and enough room for future service before ordering.
