Frequently asked questions

Helpful answers for choosing, installing, and caring for your Brassty fixtures.

Will unlacquered brass change over time?

Yes. Unlacquered brass is a living finish that develops a natural patina with use and exposure to air and water. The color can deepen and vary across the fixture; this changing appearance is part of its character. Explore our unlacquered brass fixtures and finish care guide.

How do I choose a finish for my faucets and shower system?

Compare the finish’s color, sheen, maintenance needs, and how it will look alongside your sink, tiles, lighting, and hardware. Unlacquered brass develops patina; polished nickel has a reflective, warm-toned appearance; antique copper and oil-rubbed bronze add darker or warmer contrast. Availability varies by product. See the brass fixture finishes guide before selecting your variant.

Can I coordinate kitchen faucets, bathroom faucets, and accessories?

Start with your main fixture and look for the same named finish in the other collections. Compare product images and descriptions because lighting, surface shape, and living-finish variation can affect the appearance. Browse kitchen faucets, bathroom faucets, and bathroom accessories. Contact us with the product links if you need help coordinating a set.

Where can I find product measurements and included parts?

Check the individual product description, images, specifications, and selected configuration before ordering. Measurements and included components differ by model; a lifestyle image is not a complete packing list. Use our measurements and compatibility guide and ask us about any detail that is not listed.

Is antique brass the same as unlacquered brass?

Not necessarily. “Unlacquered” describes brass without a protective lacquer coating, while “antique brass” can describe an aged appearance or a separately applied finish. Unlacquered brass may develop an antique-looking patina over time, but the terms are not interchangeable. Choose the finish stated in the specific product listing.

Is oil-rubbed bronze available on every product?

Not every fixture or configuration has the same finish options. Check the variant selector on the product page for current availability, or browse our oil-rubbed bronze collection. If the model you want is not listed in that finish, contact us before ordering rather than choosing a different finish and expecting it to be changed.

What is a bridge kitchen faucet?

A bridge kitchen faucet has a visible connection between the hot and cold controls and the spout. Choose it by both appearance and fit: mounting-hole spacing, spout reach, handle clearance, and any additional sprayer hole need to suit your sink or countertop. Compare our bridge kitchen faucets and bridge faucet buying guide.

What is the difference between exposed and built-in shower systems?

An exposed shower system leaves the main pipework visible on the wall. A built-in system conceals key plumbing components behind the finished wall. The choice affects installation planning and access for servicing, not just appearance. Compare exposed shower systems and built-in shower systems with your installer.

Can I choose a shower head, handheld sprayer, and tub filler together?

Available combinations depend on the system and selected configuration. Check whether the listing includes a shower head only, a handheld sprayer, a tub outlet, or a combination, and confirm the compatible valve and controls. Browse shower system configurations or use the Brassty Shower Finder to narrow your choices.

Which bathroom faucet installation type do I need?

Match the faucet to your sink and plumbing: a single-hole faucet uses one mounting opening, a widespread faucet has separate components across multiple openings, and a wall-mounted faucet needs compatible wall plumbing. Check the exact model’s measurements rather than assuming every faucet of the same type fits. Compare single-hole, widespread, and wall-mounted bathroom faucets.

What should I measure before ordering a faucet?

Check mounting-hole count and spacing, countertop thickness where relevant, spout reach, spout height, and clearance for handles. For a vessel sink, also consider basin height and where the water will land. Confirm the connection requirements with your installer. Our fixture measurements guide explains the checks to make before ordering.

What should I plan for a wall-mounted bathroom faucet?

Confirm the in-wall plumbing position, finished wall depth, spout projection, and basin placement before closing the wall or drilling. A faucet that looks suitable can still require a different rough-in arrangement. Share the exact wall-mounted faucet specifications with your installer early in the project.

Are shower valves and trim universally interchangeable?

No. A similar appearance does not confirm that a valve, cartridge, trim, or handle will fit another model. Confirm the exact system, connection requirements, and component compatibility before purchasing replacement parts or reusing existing plumbing. Read our shower valve and plumbing compatibility guide.

Do your shower systems have thermostatic temperature control?

Control type varies by product. Do not assume a shower is thermostatic or pressure-balancing unless that feature is stated for the exact model. Check the product specifications and ask us with the product link if the control type or valve requirements are unclear.

How do I choose a pot filler for my kitchen?

Check the mounting position, available water connection, arm reach over your cooking area, and clearance when the arms are folded. Plan placement with your installer before finishing the wall. Compare the measurements for the exact model in our pot filler collection; there is no single installation height suitable for every kitchen.

What should I check for a freestanding tub filler?

Confirm floor mounting, the water-supply position, access to the connections, spout reach into the tub, and clearance around the bath. Check whether the selected model includes a handheld sprayer and the required mounting components. Review our freestanding tub fillers with your installer before finalizing the floor.

Should a professional install my fixtures?

Use a qualified plumbing professional for installation and any work involving water-supply connections or concealed plumbing. Give them the exact product specifications before work starts. Follow the product-specific instructions and applicable local requirements. Our installation planning guide helps you prepare.

Do you offer free shipping?

We offer free express shipping worldwide. Processing time and shipping transit time are separate, and delivery estimates depend on the product and destination. Review our shipping policy and contact help@brassty.com before ordering if you have a specific installation deadline.

Are import duties included in my order?

All US import duties are paid by Brassty under our DDP delivery service for the United States. This duties-paid promise applies to US deliveries only, not to other destinations. If you are ordering for another country, contact help@brassty.com to clarify destination-specific charges before purchase.

How long will my order take to arrive?

Allow time for both order preparation and transit after dispatch. These depend on the product, destination, and whether the order involves customization. Check the current processing and delivery estimates, and contact us before ordering if your project is time-sensitive. Estimates are not a guaranteed arrival date.

How can I track my order?

Tracking details are sent after dispatch. Follow the tracking link in your shipping confirmation or use our order tracking page. If tracking is unclear or a delivery appears delayed, send your order number to help@brassty.com.

What if my order arrives damaged, incorrect, or incomplete?

Inspect the delivery and contact help@brassty.com promptly with your order number, photos of the items and packaging, and a description of the issue. Keep the packaging and all received parts while we review it. For damage or defects on arrival, notify us within 7 days of delivery and follow our return instructions.

When does the 30-day return period begin?

The 30-day return period begins when you receive the product, not on the purchase date. Eligible items must be unused, uninstalled, and in their original packaging with the parts and documentation. Contact help@brassty.com within the return window to arrange authorization. See the return policy for the full conditions.

How do I request a return, and who pays return shipping?

Email help@brassty.com with your order number and reason for return. Wait for authorization and the correct return instructions before shipping. Customers pay return shipping for change-of-mind returns, including an unsuitable size or finish. Brassty covers return shipping for damaged or defective items in accordance with the return policy.

When will I receive an approved refund?

Approved refunds are processed to the original payment method within 1–3 business days after the returned item is inspected. Your payment provider may take a further 1–5 business days to show the refund. Contact help@brassty.com with your order number if you need an update.

Can I cancel or change my order?

Contact help@brassty.com within 24 hours to request cancellation, and contact us as soon as possible for any change. Orders cannot be cancelled once fulfillment or manufacturing has begun. A request is not a confirmation; wait for our team to confirm what is possible.

What warranty do Brassty faucets and shower components have?

Selected parts, including valves, mixers, and faucet bodies, may be covered for up to five years. Coverage depends on the particular product and component; not every part or finish has identical coverage. Email help@brassty.com with the product link or your order details to confirm the applicable warranty.

Can you help with a leak, damaged part, or finish issue?

Yes. Send your order details, the product name, and clear photos or a short video to help@brassty.com. We review the issue and applicable coverage and explain the available solution, which may include replacing an affected part. For an active leak, shut off the water if you can do so safely and contact a qualified plumber. See replacement parts and support.

Can I still ask for help after the warranty period?

Yes. Contact us even after the applicable warranty period. We can review the issue and discuss available assistance or replacement-part options. This support does not automatically extend warranty coverage or guarantee a free replacement.

What if the product does not suit me and I cannot return it?

Contact help@brassty.com and explain what you need. If a return is not possible, we may be able to offer a more suitable product at a special price. Options are assessed individually and are not a guaranteed free replacement.

How should I clean brass faucets and shower fixtures?

Follow the care instructions for the exact finish. For routine care, use a soft cloth with clean water and, where appropriate, a mild non-abrasive cleaner; rinse residue and dry the surface. Avoid abrasive pads, harsh powders, and aggressive chemicals. Read our brass fixture care guide for further guidance.

Should I polish unlacquered brass or let it develop patina?

That depends on the appearance you want. Patina is part of unlacquered brass’s living character, and polishing can alter it. Do not apply a polishing method intended for bare brass to a plated or differently treated finish. Check your product’s care instructions and contact us before trying a new treatment.

How do I care for polished nickel, antique copper, or oil-rubbed bronze?

Clean gently and dry after use, following the instructions for the selected finish. Avoid abrasive or acidic products unless the product-specific guidance explicitly permits them. Different finishes need different treatment; a brass polish should not be assumed safe for every surface. Compare our finish guide and care guidance.

What should I do about water spots or mineral buildup?

Drying the fixture with a soft cloth after use can help limit water spotting. For existing deposits, check the product-specific cleaning instructions before using a descaler or acidic cleaner, as these can damage some finishes. If you are unsure, send a photo and the product details to our team before treatment.

How do I find the correct replacement part?

Prepare your order number, product link or name, photos of the fixture and affected part, and any useful measurements. Similar handles or finishes do not guarantee compatibility. Contact us before ordering a cartridge, valve, handle, or other component. Our replacement-parts guide explains what information helps us identify the right part.
